Information and limitations

Understanding the results shown here

The Vigo Domains Portal provides point-in-time information to help you search for domains, understand available service options and inspect selected publicly observable domain trust signals.

The information shown is intended to help you make a more informed next decision. It is not a guarantee of availability, security, compliance or future service behaviour.

Domain availability and pricing

Domain availability, pricing and registration terms can change between the time a search is performed and the time an order is completed.

An availability result does not reserve a domain or guarantee that a registration will be accepted. Final availability, eligibility, pricing and registration outcomes depend on TPP Wholesale, the relevant registrar or registry, and the rules applying to the namespace.

The Domains Portal should therefore be treated as a pre-check and decision aid, not confirmation that a domain has been secured.

Transfer and renewal information

Transfer and renewal readiness shown by the portal is based on information available from upstream domain services at the time of the check.

A result indicating that a transfer or renewal appears possible does not guarantee that the transaction will complete. Additional authorisation, eligibility checks, credentials, payment or other requirements may apply when you continue through the domain-management platform.

Quick Domain Trust Snapshot

The Quick Domain Trust Snapshot examines selected information that is publicly visible through DNS at the time the check is performed.

It currently uses observable signals associated with nameservers, mail routing, SPF, DMARC, MTA-STS and TLS reporting. The snapshot does not assess every domain or email control, including selector-specific DKIM configuration.

A positive result does not mean that a domain, website, email system or organisation is secure. Similarly, a missing, unavailable or ambiguous signal should not automatically be interpreted as a security failure. DNS caching, propagation, resolver behaviour and temporary upstream conditions can affect what is observable at a particular point in time.

The snapshot is not a penetration test, vulnerability assessment, compliance certification or complete cybersecurity assessment.

Public information is only part of the picture

Many important controls are not publicly observable. The portal cannot determine from public DNS alone whether registrar access is appropriately protected, administrative accounts use strong authentication, organisational ownership is correctly assigned, internal controls are effective, or operational processes are being followed.

Public signals can provide useful evidence, but they should be interpreted alongside the organisation's actual configuration, governance and operational context.

External services and changing information

The Domains Portal relies on external services, including TPP Wholesale for domain-service information and Google Public DNS for the DNS queries used by the Quick Domain Trust Snapshot.

Those services, registry information and public DNS data can change independently of Vigo. Temporary service interruptions, stale DNS responses or other upstream conditions may therefore affect a result.
